About the Role:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, order, and a welcoming environment within residential or commercial settings. This position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently, adhering to established standards and protocols. The Housekeeper contributes to the overall comfort and satisfaction of occupants or guests by performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including floor care, dusting, and waste removal. Attention to detail and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are essential to successfully complete daily assignments. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports a safe, hygienic, and pleasant environment that reflects positively on the organization or household.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to speak and understand English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including reaching overhead and floor care.
• Basic literacy skills to read and write instructions and complete documentation.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic mathematical skills to perform simple computations related to cleaning tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Certification in cleaning or sanitation practices.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor polishers or carpet cleaners.
• Strong time management skills and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
• Maintain floor care by using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment to ensure floors are clean and safe.
• Follow detailed oral and written instructions to complete cleaning schedules and special requests accurately.
• Handle cleaning supplies and equipment with manual dexterity and care to avoid damage or injury.
• Reach overhead and other difficult areas to clean thoroughly, ensuring no spots are missed.
• Perform basic mathematical computations to measure cleaning solutions or track inventory as needed.
• Read and write to document completed tasks, report issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
