First Assist - Operating Room

Location: Salem, VA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, rotating call on weeknights and weekends.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled First Assist to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in orthopedic procedures, Da Vinci robotic surgery, and neuro surgeries. You will play a vital role in ensuring optimal patient care during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in various surgical procedures including craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple procedure, and MAKO total joint replacement.
• Provide high-quality patient care with a 1:1 patient ratio in a 10-bed unit.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth operation room processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must be a licensed First Assist with certification from the Board of Medicine in Virginia.
• Proficiency in orthopedic, Da Vinci, and neuro surgery practices is essential.
• Advanced skills in orthotraumatic procedures are required.
