About the Role
Our staffing firm is partnering with a leading national retailer to identify an experienced Art Director for a contract opportunity based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This organization is known for delivering style-driven products, strong digital shopping experiences, and a brand centered on design, value, and customer appeal across both in-store and e-commerce channels.
This role will support apparel and accessories e-commerce photography, helping shape high-quality digital imagery that aligns with brand standards, category priorities, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate brings a strong creative point of view, excellent visual storytelling abilities, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Job Description
In this role, you will support a range of art direction projects for apparel and accessories item-level e-commerce photography, ensuring all visual assets reflect brand standards, category strategies, and customer expectations. You will collaborate with photographers, stylists, producers, creative teams, and external partners to deliver high-quality imagery across photo productions while balancing multiple assignments across brands and categories.
This position requires a strong blend of creative vision and operational execution. You will help maintain consistency across digital content, contribute to the development of compelling visual solutions, and ensure projects move forward on time and in alignment with business goals. Success in this role will come from the ability to work cross-functionally, respond effectively to feedback, and translate creative direction into polished, customer-facing imagery that supports a strong online shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities

• Support art direction for apparel and accessories item-level e-commerce photography.
• Ensure imagery reflects brand standards, category strategies, and customer expectations.
• Partner with photographers, stylists, producers, internal creative teams, and external partners to execute high-quality visual content.
• Manage multiple assignments across brands and categories while maintaining consistency, quality, and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring creative concepts through execution.
• Build and present decks that connect creative solutions to business objectives.
• Apply strong creative judgment and trend awareness to support engaging digital content.
• Contribute to a high-volume retail e-commerce photography production environment with attention to detail and efficiency.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant art direction experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in retail creative, with a focus on apparel and accessories e-commerce photography and digital content.
• Strong creative judgment with a high taste level and awareness of current design, retail, and cultural trends.
• Ability to take direction and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Open to feedback, with a proactive and action-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Collaborative team player with experience partnering across cross-functional teams to bring creative work through execution.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to build and present decks that connect creative solutions to business objectives.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a high-volume retail e-commerce photography production environment.
• Experience with Miro or other collaborative tools.
• Experience supporting creative work across multiple brands or product categories.
