Phlebotomist

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: * Is proficient at 98% of venipunctue attempts. Assures that specimen collected is * appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood) * Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times. * Understands consequence of deviation from protocol. * Takes a leadership role in orientation and training of new Associates and students. * Demonstrates consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants and children as well as adults. * Performs all collections in timely manner. * Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment , ie syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or equivalent required * To be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or have a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital * To have excellent customer service skills.
