ServiceNow Business Analyst (mid-level)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

Collaborate with government stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and define functional and technical requirements for ServiceNow implementations and enhancements. Facilitate the prioritization of business needs, translating them into scalable ServiceNow solutions that align with agency goals and compliance standards. Design and document business processes, workflows, functional specifications, user stories, and test plans. Lead and support system and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. Partner with technical teams to validate functionality and ensure solutions are built to specifications. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of federal agency operations, applying industry best practices to drive continuous improvement. Conduct workshops and presentations to communicate requirements, process improvements, and system capabilities to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Understanding of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, team‑oriented environments with diverse stakeholders

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field U.S. Citizenship is required Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one

EXPERIENCE

Minimum5 years of business analysis experience, preferably in a government or federal consulting environment Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow, including familiarity with common modules and functionality Proficiency in developing business process documentation using Microsoft Visio or similar tools Experience translating business needs into detailed technical requirements Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ITSM best practices
