Details Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients along with higher acuity med-surg cases Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis Unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15) Every other weekend coverage required Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 on nights Floating to other units required based on facility census needs and staff competencies Uses Omnicell medication system Epic EMR utilized Requirements Active TN or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a similar unit required Previous charge nurse experience required Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, oxygen administration, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac drip management (no titration), telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of rapid response/code teams Additional Information Deliver direct patient care to stroke, TIA, and higher acuity med-surg patients with a strong focus on patient experience Participate in orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Night shift travelers for this specialty must reside 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible American Traveler Job ID P-726628.
