Senior Oracle PL/SQL Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a senior-level Programmer (Specialist) with expertise in Oracle databases, SQL/PL-SQL, and ETL processes to independently develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize complex database applications and data warehouse solutions. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions while ensuring data quality and system performance. Responsibilities:

• Monitor and validate scheduled and ad hoc data loads, reconciling source and target data.
• Investigate production incidents, analyze root causes, correct defects, and verify fixes.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and solutions.
• Analyze design specifications, identify risks and limitations, and recommend alternative approaches.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, system, regression, and data-validation testing.
• Create and maintain system, program, and support documentation.
• Participate in design and code reviews as well as deployment activities.
• Assist technical and business users in understanding application and warehouse data.
• Manage work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate risks and status to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7 years of application development, database programming, and production support experience.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL (including packages, procedures, functions, triggers).
• Experience with data warehouses, ETL processes, production data loads, performance tuning, defect correction, and data-quality validation.
• Advanced skills in SQL/PL-SQL performance analysis, indexing, execution plans, and Oracle SQL Developer.
• Knowledge of data-warehouse concepts such as dimensional structures, source-to-target mappings, and data reconciliation.
• Familiarity with source-code management and software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with design/code reviews and deployment activities.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with technical and business users.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Remote work location (100% remote).
• Ability to meet deadlines and communicate risks effectively.

Scheduling:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Contract duration: 8 months.
