Senior Oracle Database AdministratorLocation: Arlington, VARole: Contract to HireSecurity Requirements: Client HQ EOD (Public Trust) – Must obtain prior to startingJob Summary: Client is looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Sr. Oracle DBA) for the Client OBIM program in Arlington, VA. The ideal candidate will support, manage, and monitor mission critical IDENT Production and Non-Production databases in a fast-paced team environment. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Patches, upgrades, and troubleshoots production and non-production databasesConducts performance tuning of indexes and optimization of storage functionalityReviews database design and integration of systemsProvides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvementsSupports development effort and production deployment releasesSynchronizes development, test, and production environment on a regular basisMonitors database activities and their resource utilizationMaintains security and integrity controlsMay work on-call rotation for application supportMay support overnight, late-night, early-morning, and/or weekend O&M activitiesMay provide support with technical documentationRequired Qualifications & Skills:Client HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain Client HQ Final SuitabilityBS and 5+ plus yrs. relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to work independentlyDesired Qualifications & Skills:BS or MS in computer science or information systems field of study9+ years' experience in database administrationOracle Certification(s)Experience working with large Oracle databases over 500TBExperience working with Oracle RAC databases 12cExperience installing, configuring, and managing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12c Cloud ControlExperience installing/maintaining Oracle databases in AIX, Linux, and Windows operating systemsExperience in Oracle ASM, Data Guard, Oracle cloud control/ Grid Control (OEM) and RMANExperienced in high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including database failover and data center switchoverExperience in database and application performance tuningExperience with SQL and PL/SQL
