We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a team in Bakersfield, California. This opportunity is well suited for someone with hands-on experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across payables, receivables, invoice handling, and data management while using QuickBooks and Excel to keep information organized and up to date.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming invoices by reviewing details, entering data accurately, and preparing items for timely payment processing.

• Support accounts payable activities by matching documentation, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining organized payment records.

• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including recording incoming payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and updating customer account information.

• Enter financial and operational data into accounting systems with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.

• Use QuickBooks to maintain transaction records, post entries, and assist with routine account tracking.

• Prepare and update spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel to support reporting, reconciliations, and daily accounting follow-up.

• Communicate with internal teams and external contacts to clarify billing questions and address documentation issues.

• Assist with general accounting administration to ensure records are current, accessible, and aligned with company procedures.

• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience using QuickBooks for routine accounting or bookkeeping activities.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with invoice review, coding, and processing procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial information.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
