Material Handling Specialist

Stockroom Team Member

The shift is Monday - Friday from 7:00 am 3:30 pm. Pay rate is $16.00. As a member of the stockroom team, ensures timely delivery of materials throughout the plant in order to meet production needs; under the direction of the Materials Manager and Inventory Control Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain appropriate stocking of Kanban parts throughout the plant in order to meet production needs
• Collect, refill and return empty Kanban bins to the assembly department on a regularly scheduled basis
• Pull and kit parts for orders as needed
• Assist with Daily Cycle Counts
• Use forklifts, motorized carts, pallet jacks and hand trucks in a safe manner to move materials around plant as required
• Assist in other Stockroom, Shipping & Receiving duties as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Work overtime as required

Required Qualifications, Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or GED
• Relevant work experience
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English)
• Follow written and/or oral instructions in English
• Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, squatting and standing positions (includes working off ladders) for long periods of time (in excess of one hour)
• Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• Oracle and/or MS Office experience
• Previously working in materials or inventory control with hands-on experience
• Previous material handling or warehouse experience
• Knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Office preferred
