Coordinate bargaining unit employees and outside contractors for cathodic protection and damage prevention tasks. Ensure compliance with Federal Code and State Regulations. Review and communicate program metrics, provide guidance on best practices, and oversee electronic corrosion data inspection processes. Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct a staff of Bargaining Unit employees. Prepare and communicate corrosion program status and performance reports. Maintain cathodic protection system data and databases. Identify employee development opportunities and manage training. Design and maintain annual inspection and monitoring schedules. Recommend remedial actions to restore cathodic protection systems. Support Gas Field Operations with pipe jacking, sparking investigations, and capital projects. Apply company and regulatory codes and ensure compliance. Interact with customers, developers, municipalities, agencies, and contractors. Manage technical support contractors and consultants, and review SAP equipment data. Coordinate with Operations Supervisors to maintain damage prevention procedures. Ensure adherence to MA Safe Digging Excavator Manual and DPU regulations. Promote internal safety culture and conduct public awareness programs. Represent the company at community and emergency meetings. Provide after‑hours response for storms, emergencies, and critical assignments. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree + at least 5 years of relevant experience (preferred). Associate Degree + at least 7 years of relevant experience (preferred). High School Diploma/GED + at least 10 years of relevant experience (required). Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance. Knowledge of industry federal and state regulations. Valid Driver’s License. AMPP CP‑1 Certification (required). Operator Qualifications for natural gas (required). Preferred Qualifications AMPP CP‑1 or higher certification. Skills/Abilities Results‑oriented with strong customer service focus. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self‑directed with multitasking capability. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, SAP, and MS Outlook. Demonstrated supervisory skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Availability for after‑hours response during storms and emergencies. Mobility Information Employee will be assigned to Pittsfield with travel to other Avangrid locations as needed. Occasional work outside the service territory for industry or government meetings or training may occur.
