Case Accounting Coordinator

We are looking for a Case Accounting Coordinator to manage trust accounting activities throughout the life cycle of client matters. This role will process and track trust transactions, manage disbursements, support reporting and audit readiness, and review legal documents for accounting-related information. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and able to prioritize requests while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

• Process trust transactions accurately and in accordance with applicable trust-accounting requirements.
• Maintain segregation of funds among different states' trust funds.
• Track and trust transactions across client cases from case start through close.
• Manage trust disbursements based on requests and direction from legal teams.
• Prepare and support periodic trust-related reporting responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support ongoing trust audit preparedness.
• Review relevant legal documents and identify information salient to accounting transactions for client matters.
• Prioritize requests from legal teams while working in a fast-paced, high-accuracy environment.
• Handle transaction information with the utmost confidentiality.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of trust accounting as practiced by the legal industry and in compliance with various State Bar Associations.
• Experience using trust accounting software used by the legal industry.
• Accounting degree or the equivalent of at least two years of accounting/finance experience.
• Ability to review various legal documents, analyze them, and determine information relevant to accounting transactions related to a case from start to close.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy requirements.
• Ability to work well with teams, prioritize requests from legal teams, and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work quickly and accurately and apply sound judgement on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of batch processing and different data file types, including CSV, Excel, and TXT, across software platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills or equivalent software proficiency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise the utmost confidentiality in all transactions.
