Fund Accountant - Real Estate

Job Description

A leading private markets advisory firm is looking for an experienced Real Estate Fund Accountant to join a fund accounting team supporting a large, newly launched private real estate fund. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with real ownership over the work from day one.

What you'll be doing:

\n
    \n
  • Quarter-end close and cleanup activity across a newly launched RE fund
    • \n
  • Journal entries and GL maintenance
    • \n
  • Capital calls, distributions, and partner capital accounts
    • \n
  • Quarterly financial statement preparation and investor reporting
    • \n
  • Supporting external audit processes
    • \n
\n

What we need:

\n
    \n
  • 3 to 7 years of fund accounting experience
    • \n
  • Real estate fund experience is essential — candidates without this will not be considered
    • \n
  • Strong close process skills — journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation
    • \n
  • Background from a fund administrator (Gen II, SS&C, Alter Domus, Citco, Apex) or in-house at an asset manager
    • \n
  • Comfortable with a contract structure and available to start within 2 weeks
    • \n
  • 5 days onsite in Lower Manhattan — no exceptions
    • \n
\n
