- Requires thorough knowledge of welding techniques, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill and assemble various metal components
- Able to weld horizontal or vertical
- Welding: 1-2 years+ (preferred)
- MIG
- Fitting: 1-2 years (preferred)
- Must be able to read blueprints and complex schematics
- Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50-lbs.
