Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients utilizing the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient condition. The RN implements interventions to address presenting symptoms and evaluates the effectiveness of these interventions in response to patient needs. As a key member and leader of the healthcare team, the RN collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to establish goals and outcomes for each patient while delegating appropriate tasks to support staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• (40%) Regularly assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
• (30%) Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, patient education, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and managing alarms and related duties.
• (20%) Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and participate in the revision of these plans in collaboration with other team members to enhance patient care.
• (10%) Maintain knowledge and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures related to patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience.
• Pediatric experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is highly preferred.
• Active Michigan nursing license is required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.

Additional Information

Shifts are 12 hours, primarily at night, with a 36-hour guarantee, including every other weekend and holiday responsibilities. There are no on-call requirements for this position.
