Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Team Leader – CNC Mill (Level I) for our client. This position is responsible for leading a team of CNC machinists while remaining hands-on with machine setup, programming, and production. The Team Leader will oversee daily operations, ensure quality and safety standards are met, coordinate departmental activities, and support the development of team members.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

• Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists to ensure production goals are met.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines for new and existing jobs.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and provide technical support to team members.
• Train and mentor machinists on machine setup, programming, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Schedule and coordinate departmental workflow to meet production deadlines.
• Serve as a point of communication between production, engineering, purchasing, and other departments.
• Assist with inventory control and work-in-process management.
• Support quality initiatives and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment as needed.
• Review completed work to ensure quality and accuracy requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist management with employee development and performance feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a CNC machining environment.
• Strong experience with CNC mill setup, programming, and operation.
• Ability to independently set up and run complex jobs from start to finish.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and machining best practices.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining processes, tooling, and equipment issues.
• Experience training and mentoring other machinists.
• Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with production scheduling and inventory control.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Aerospace, precision machining, or AS9100 environment experience preferred.
