RNFANestled along the Central California Coast, this facility has been providing care to the community since 1959. This 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a county-designated trauma center. It offers an exciting community atmosphere while being in close proximity to serene beach locations. The job involves performing the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Responsibilities include coordinating, managing, providing, and delegating patient care. The RNFA is responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice and promoting cooperation among the healthcare team. The RNFA will assist under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in the perioperative care of patients undergoing surgery. This role functions within the policies and guidelines established and reports directly to the Director of Perioperative Services. The RNFA is an expanded role of the registered nurse and is accountable for exemplifying leadership and professionalism. Education and work experience required include graduation from a nursing school and certification of completion of an approved RNFA course. Essential functions include ensuring patients' personal needs are met and assisting in reducing noise levels on the nursing unit. Participation in the Standards of Conduct and demonstrating commitment to coworkers is expected. Collaboration is key to ensuring all patients' needs are met while maintaining privacy. Documentation should be clear, concise, and legible, with accurate reporting and communication. All assigned quality monitors must be completed as directed by the department manager. Following infection control guidelines and obtaining history and physical assessments as per nursing protocol are required. Recognizing signs and symptoms of distress or emergencies and demonstrating knowledge in emergency situations is imperative. The RNFA must accurately administer and chart medications following hospital policies. Assessing patients' educational needs and implementing planned education is part of the RNFA's responsibilities. Intraoperative competency skills, such as manual dexterity and suturing, will be necessary for the role. Participation in the development and education of new staff members is encouraged. The RNFA will attend staff meetings and complete necessary training and competencies for department-specific skills. Adaptability to changes in the unit, environment, and workflow is essential. All patient charge items must be charged and documented correctly, and resources should be utilized appropriately. Performing other job-related duties as assigned is expected.
