Certified Medical Assistant (recent Front Desk experience required)

Job Overview CornerStone Medical is looking for a Medical Assistant to work the front desk for a clinic in Plano, Texas. Pay: up to $20/hr Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday Scrub color: Any Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred Essential Functions Reviews patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information. Performs testing required by type of exam scheduled, patient complaint and history. Acts as a scribe while physician examines patient, entering data into electronic medical records or handwriting in a paper chart, and oversees patient flow. Take an ocular and systemic history and accurately record visual acuity. Perform lensometry, refractometry, applanation tonometry, basic muscle balance testing, assess pupils, assess the anterior chamber, confrontation visual fields, and gross external exam. Administer diagnostic tests. Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under the direction of the physician. Assist with in‑office procedures, ensuring proper informed consent is obtained, and set up and clean up from procedures. Perform advanced ophthalmic procedures. Assist in training other ophthalmic assistants. Assist with patient education. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the work day. Comply with all practice procedures and protocols. Comply with all State and Federal regulations. Understand and accept responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to the supervisor or Compliance Officer. Maintain a positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self‑motivation, courtesy, and professionalism. Requirements Front Desk/Receptionist experience required. Ability to be taught and coached.
