Safety Coordinator / Administrator - First Shift (5852)

Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm. This is a first shift position.American Construction Materials (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all safety measures are met and followed at our plant location. If you are detail-oriented and are looking for a rewarding opportunity with an established company, we want to hear from you!Specific duties include:Providing safety guidance and training to associates on monthly basisPurchasing and distributing all PPE materialsEnsuring the compliance of the hazard communication standard, including Safety Data SheetsAssisting with the onboarding of new associatesReviewing and reporting of accidents and injuriesVerifying that forklift equipment is compliantMaintaining the lock out / tag out and stormwater compliance programsEnsuring that all required associates are compliant with required trainings and certificationsPerforming clerical duties related to inspection and training logsPerforming internal safety auditsAssisting in safety and compliance investigations as necessaryOther duties as assignedQualifications include:College degree (Occupational Safety or other related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferredPrevious experience in one or all of the following areas is preferred: OSHA Regulations, Environmental Compliance/Industrial Hygiene or another related fieldExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsLO/TO proficientAbility to read, analyze and interpret business and regulatory documentsPositive attitude and team playerPhysical Demand:Associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for a full 8-hour day.Work Environment:100% manufacturing settingAssociate must comply with assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement in varies areas, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.Associate will have exposure to typical working conditions within the manufacturing environment, including but not limited to, seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, debris, and grease, moving forklift equipment, and pinch points on machinery.Benefits may include:Health, dental, and vision coverage - eligible after 60 days, low out of pocket401(k) with generous company match - eligible after 60 days, immediately vestedEmployer paid employee assistance programEmployer paid short term and long term disabilityEmployer paid life insuranceFlex spendingPaid vacationPaid sick daysPaid holidaysPay Information:$18 - $21/hr.
