An electric company in Manasses, VA is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions accurately and within established timelines.

• Assist with hiring coordination by scheduling interviews and supporting communication throughout the recruitment process.

• Help administer employee onboarding activities and benefits-related documentation.

• Provide project support through preparation of submittals, schedule updates, and organization of related materials.

• Create and maintain project labels and other tracking documents to support operational efficiency.

• Use spreadsheets and internal systems to maintain accurate financial, personnel, and project records.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accounting, HR, and project support activities are completed effectively.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, accounts payable, or a closely related support role.
• Practical experience handling accounts payable functions in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting tasks.
• Exposure to HR-related administrative support such as interview coordination, onboarding, or benefits processing.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across accounting, HR, and project support functions.
• Experience with Sage 300 and TimberScan is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized while managing recurring deadlines.
