Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Charge Nurse – Alaska

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours per week with alternating weekends. This is a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit with an average of 7 daily deliveries, supporting inductions, antepartum care, and OB triage services. Assignment length is 13 or 26 weeks with guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period.

• Charge Nurse role in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as the best hospital in Alaska
• High-risk OB experience with 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, 10 OB triage rooms, and 4 PACU rooms supporting complex deliveries and antepartum patients
• Epic charting system in a 407-bed acute care hospital with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and more
• Flexible assignment lengths of 13 or 26 weeks with opportunity for charge nurse training if needed
• Free parking provided; scrubs supplied by facility
• May float to similar units as needed to support facility operations

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license (pending licenses accepted for screening; must have license in hand for offer)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Previous Charge Nurse experience strongly preferred or willingness to train in the charge role
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
• First-time travelers accepted
