Environmental Project Engineer

Position Summary Seeking a senior-level Environmental Project Engineer to lead and deliver complex environmental and civil engineering projects. This role oversees project planning, investigation, design, budgeting, and team leadership while serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients. The position manages work from initial site assessment through project completion with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage environmental site investigations, interpret surface/subsurface data, and develop engineering recommendations. Plan and execute project scopes, schedules, budgets, and milestones; adjust resources and timelines as needed. Oversee preparation of technical reports, design documents, specifications, and proposal materials. Direct project teams and assign tasks across investigation, analysis, design, and QA/QC activities. Ensure engineering work adheres to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and contract specifications. Serve as primary client interface, providing updates and ensuring alignment with project goals. Mentor, coach, and develop staff; provide performance feedback and support career growth. Participate in business development through proposal support and maintaining strong client relationships. Stamp engineering work with PE license upon completion and verification. Travel up to 10% for project or site needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. 8–10+ years of environmental/civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred/required. Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Rocscience tools, MS Office). Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to access project sites. Work Conditions Primarily office-based with fieldwork approximately 10% of the time. Fieldwork may require walking uneven terrain and exposure to various weather conditions; PPE required. Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs as needed.
