Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician City and State: Elgin, IL Pay Rate: $30.00-$35.00/hour Schedule/Shift: Day Shift Employment Type: Temporary Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to provide coverage for an employee currently out on a Workers' Compensation leave. While the assignment is initially temporary, there is approximately a 50/50 possibility that the opportunity could become permanent. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and the ability to read, write, and understand English. Responsibilities Perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Conduct facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs. Complete preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maintain performance standards. Maintain required maintenance documentation and follow safety and cGMP procedures. Qualifications Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Experience working as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial manufacturing or factory setting is required. 3-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and related systems. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read schematics and use testing equipment; PLC experience is a plus.
