About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic charting experience Description: This role requires 36 or 48-hour options and a 13 or 26-week contract. Traveling nurses may be required to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Stepdown Critical Care is a 12-bed unit providing care to patients needing a level of care between intensive care and progressive care. The focus is on ensuring the safety of all patients in this unit. Patients include those with traumas, surgeries, transplants, lung disorders, and those on ventilators. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 on both days and nights. Candidates are required to have experience managing drips on all floors. First-time travelers are not accepted without relevant experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. Floating may occur within the scope to meet facility needs. Units may include various designated areas within the facility depending on operational requirements. The facility is 100% nicotine-free. Weekend commitments involve four weekend shifts out of eight in a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. Local candidates are not accepted, and a pending license may be considered if it is in hand at the time of submission. Scrubs must be worn, and specific guidelines for obtaining scrubs will be shared upon confirmation. All contracts are required to end on Sunday. Work weeks run from Monday to Sunday. The facility mandates a nicotine-free environment. This opportunity involves care of adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams and services. The unit provides an array of patient diagnoses and requires adherence to safety protocols and proper care management. Special equipment may be utilized as necessary for patient care.
