Quality & Compliance TechnicianFlorence, KYCompensation IncludesStarting pay rate $20.55 - 22.55/hourAvailable ShiftDay Shift: 7am - 7pmOverviewEnsure the products being produced and or shipped in the facility are meeting customer specifications and that all safety standards are met, per established corporate and plant guidelines and procedures.ResponsibilitiesContinuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and proceduresKeep work area clean and organized, per 5S standardsFollow all applicable food service policies and proceduresFollow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as requiredEnsure all corporate and plant safety policies and procedures are being followed, escalate to the supervisor if notReporting and documenting any quality issues to machine operator, supervisors, and upper plant managementCollecting and cataloging samples retrieved from designated machinesPerforming random audits of skids and bales of finished goods to determine quality of productPerform quality testing in QA Lab for paper tensile strength, handle strength, ink rub resistance, bar code scanning, basis weight testing. Must have knowledge of or training on QA Lab equipment - tensile tester, Sutherland rub tester, bar code scanner, and gram scaleMaintain total compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulationsAssist with internal audits and inspections and enter into appropriate safety systems as requiredParticipate in weekly safety meetings as per OSHA standards, and the plant safety committee, assisting as needed with goals and objectives from the groupAssist with safety training for shipping/receiving and production employeesSend out daily summaries of safety and quality issues at the end of shift, addressing where issues have been fixed and what needs further escalationOversee GEMBA program, ensuring audits are completed as required and that any reoccurring or severe problems are addressed immediately. Ensure all updates are made in the appropriate systemMaintain regular communication with all levels of employees, from floor level, up to Corporate Safety and Quality, through email, calls, and meetingsOrganize and lead food safety certification effortsWork with Corporate EHS Manager on plant safety and environmental issuesPerform and document required Mobile InspectionsUsing Microsoft Excel, prepare reports and document test and audit resultsAssist in investigating customer complaints and help to resolve quality issuesConduct required training and new employee orientation, as neededFollow all Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements as outline in the SQF Quality Manual and GMP'sContinually monitor all aspects of quality, ensuring all corporate and plant management quality procedures are followedPerform and record required audits. (Monthly Sanitation and Security, Good Manufacturing Practices, Master Cleaning Schedules, Glass and Brittle Plastics, etc.)Investigate and analyze customer complaints to resolve or help to resolve quality issues. (including filing claims against carriers/formal corrective action responses/root cause analysis/etc.)QualificationsTwo years of production, quality or safety experience in a warehouse or manufacturing settingReading, writing and basic math skills and knowledge of quality standards are neededMust be computer literate and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookGood communication skills, written and verbalMust be able to effectively lead meetings with employees and managementSelf-managing with organization, time management, and analytical skillsYou should be proficient in:Quality Inspection ExperienceFood Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)Quality Control ExperienceGood Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
