Assistant General Manager

James Beard award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr's  El Vez celebrates the festive soul of Mexican and Mexican-American culture, a true south-of-the-border spirit that manifests itself in the restaurant’s attitude and atmosphere. The breathtaking space is a feast for the eyes with imaginatively designed dining areas, a large bar featuring 150+ tequilas and mezcals, and a wrap-around landscaped patio for dining al fresco.

We are currently seeking a dynamic, lead-by-example   Assistant General Manager   who is passionate about service, hospitality, and team development to join our leadership team.

This position offers a comprehensive package including:

• Base Salary Range of $85,000–$90,000
• Quarterly Bonus Program up to 15%

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of progressive management experience in service-driven restaurants 
• Experience hiring, training and mentoring a diverse hourly FOH staff of at least 25 people
• Excellent communication and critical thinking decision-making skills
• Experience meeting financial goals, managing P&L 
• Ability to drive and measure performance/success
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change
