We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, benefits administration, payroll accounting, and employee support across multiple payroll groups.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with direct experience independently processing recurring U.S. payroll, completing reconciliations, resolving payroll discrepancies, and supporting employees with payroll- and benefits-related questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and process assigned payroll cycles from preparation through final submission
• Process U.S. biweekly and monthly payrolls
• Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies involving pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits
• Complete payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries
• Partner with Finance on payroll accounting and reconciliation activities
• Assist with payroll allocations, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Submit payroll-related payments and requests through Tipalti
• Support benefits administration for assigned employee groups
• Process and reconcile 401(k) and HealthEquity contributions
• Perform monthly benefit invoice reconciliations and prepare associated journal entries
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, taxes, benefits, and 401(k)
• Support payroll and benefits activities during employee onboarding
• Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
• Cross-train on payroll processes and provide backup support for critical payroll deadlines
• Maintain process documentation and support continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Direct, hands-on experience processing U.S. payroll from preparation through final submission
• Experience independently managing recurring payroll cycles
• Prior experience as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Coordinator, Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or similar payroll-focused professional
• Working knowledge of U.S. payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance requirements
• Experience reviewing payroll for accuracy and resolving payroll discrepancies
• Experience completing payroll reconciliations or post-payroll audits
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and employee-service skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to work onsite in Atlantic Beach 1 day per week

Preferred Experience

• Preparing payroll-related journal entries
• Partnering with Finance or Accounting teams on payroll reconciliations
• 401(k) administration, contribution processing, and reconciliations
• Benefits administration and monthly benefit invoice reconciliation
• Supporting multiple payroll groups or entities
• Experience with UKG, HiBob, Principal, HealthEquity, and/or Tipalti
• Payroll process documentation and cross-training
