Medical Records DirectorBell Minor Home, a skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing compassionate care, is seeking a Medical Records Director to join our team. As Medical Records Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that medical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Guidelines, as well as our established policies and procedures. This is a critical role that requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.Responsibilities:Enter data, such as demographic characteristics, history, diagnostic procedures, or treatment into computer systemsMaintain medical facility records or storage and retrieval systems to collect, classify, store, or informationPrepare medical records for Insurance and Legal Requests as requiredContact Physicians regarding incomplete chartsAssist Nursing staff and physicians with Death CertificatesRespond to requests for records from Federal, State or County Courts, Hospitals, Physicians, and Insurance after getting direction from AdministratorScan all Medical Records as Policy States, within 24 hours of receiving documentsPerform chart Audits, including Admission Audits, Weekly audits of physician visits, and Monthly audits of progress notesAttend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirementsBe familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evaluation Procedures, and know how to use themRequirements:High School Graduate3+ years' experience in handling medical records in a licensed medical facilityExceptional organizational skillsData Entry (40-50 wpm)Proficient in information management programs and MS OfficeExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsStrong attention to detailOutstanding communication and interpersonal abilitiesProficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Office and OutlookKnowledge of medical terminologyMust be computer literateComply with Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and ProceduresWe Offer:A dynamic and supportive work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and developmentCompetitive salary and benefits package
