Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric to geriatric patients, in a critical access hospital setting. The role requires independent operation of respiratory equipment, airway management, and ABG analysis under physician supervision.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Operate and troubleshoot invasive and non-invasive ventilation equipment, ensuring optimal patient care.
  
  
• 
  Perform airway management procedures, including assisting with intubations.
  
  
• 
  Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) and interpret results for patient assessment.
  
  
• 
  Set up and manage respiratory therapy devices such as PAP modalities, high-flow oxygen, and PFTs.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification and NBRC credential required.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience, with at least 6 months of travel experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work independently, handle ventilators, and perform PFTs.
  
  
• 
  Valid Vermont RRT license and BLS certification from AHA.
  
  
• 
  Must have own vehicle and include perm address in profile.
  
  
• 
  Willingness to learn new skills such as home sleep testing and pulmonary rehab.
