Sr Mechanical Engineer
Location: Charlestown, MA Duration: 12month contract
Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, prototype, and test mechanical systems and hardware.
- Translate product requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Lead development of mechanical systems/subsystems through integration and production.
- Collaborate with industrial design, electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Work with suppliers to develop manufacturable, cost-effective components and assemblies.
- Develop and execute testing to validate performance, reliability, and quality.
- Participate in design reviews and proactively identify and communicate technical risks.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience designing systems integrating mechanical and electrical components.
- Advanced SOLIDWORKS skills or similar CAD tools such as NX or CATIA, including complex assemblies and detailed drawings.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as molding, stamping, and casting.
- Experience taking products from design/prototype through mass production.
- Strong hands-on prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with GD&T, FEA, MATLAB, MathCAD, and data acquisition/testing tools.
- Strong systems thinking, tradeoff analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
