Production Specialist

Reports to: Hahn Plant Supervisor

Job Summary

At RALCO, the Production Specialist is both detail-oriented and reliable. They support the manufacturing of high-quality animal feed products. This role is essential to ensuring the health and well-being of animals through the precise production of nutritional feed.

Key responsibilities include manufacturing, inspecting, testing, receiving, mixing, and packaging feed-related products in preparation for delivery. The position requires accurate weighing of feed ingredients and medications, as well as a willingness to learn and contribute to various aspects of feed mill operations. Candidates must be comfortable working at all height levels within the facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate feed mill equipment to process and manufacture animal feed
• Monitor production processes to ensure quality and efficiency
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
• Assist with loading and unloading ingredients and finished products
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized workspace
• Aptitude for math, problem solving, computers and mechanics

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or feed mill setting preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations
• Good mechanical aptitude and skilled in safe operation of equipment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent 

Experience: 1 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or feed mill setting preferred

General: Satisfactorily complete introductory period per company policy 

Starting Pay: $17.00/hour
