Transportation Coordinator

Arconic is currently in search of Supply Chain Transportation Coordinator to join our Supply Chain Department based in Alcoa, TN. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal customers and external carriers to safely and efficiently schedule and coordinate a variety of inbound and outbound shipments within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will also be responsible for securing and scheduling all carrier/transportation modes each day across a broad carrier base. The incumbent will be responsible for tactical, logistics, planning activities. Visa sponsorship is not valid for this position.Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred, but not required 2 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred in a similar function in a logistics or distribution company1+ year experience working in a manufacturing environmentProficiency with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)Knowledge is SAP, Oracle, or other inventory management systemProficiency in Transportation Management Systems, i.e., E2OpenLean manufacturing knowledge and experienceAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamExcellent communication skillsStrong organizational and critical thinking skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks as assigned#LI-RM1In this role, you will:Develop and optimize transportation routes and schedules for domestic and international outbound shipments based on cost, time, appointment availability and delivery requirements utilizing internal ERP (SAP) and Transportation Management Software (TMS)Coordinate inbound scrap shipments to/from external customers, secondary market, toll processors, ingot and remelt facilities based on cost, time, and delivery requirements, utilizing internal ERP (SAP) and Transportation Management Software (TMS)Work with freight companies, third party carriers, and internal key stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure timely and efficient movement of materialMonitors the progress of shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholdersProvide status updates to customers and ensure any transportation issues are resolved promptly.Identify problems, gather and analyze information, and develop actionable solutionsWork with various departments throughout the facility and outside processors to resolve daily tactical issues related to transportation carriersEvaluate carrier performance, documentation quality and reporting through internal reporting tools and performance reviewsMonitor inventory levels and provide support to lean manufacturing initiatives in the Logistics and Planning areasWork effectively with multi-functional teams in a global organizationAlso note:This role reports to the Transportation Superintendent.This role is primarily day shift, Monday-Friday.
