Tax Director
CFS is partnering with a global manufacturing and technology organization to identify a Tax Director for its North American tax function. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule based in Northborough, MA 01532 , conveniently located next to Marlborough.
Salary: $185,000-$215,000
The Tax Director will lead tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and internal controls initiatives while partnering closely with executive leadership and finance teams. This role is ideal for a strategic tax professional with strong public company experience and deep technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of income tax accounting and reporting, including quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Oversee federal, state, local, and international tax compliance processes.
- Manage and review ASC 740 calculations, tax provision documentation, and related disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Partner with finance and accounting leadership on tax planning initiatives and business transactions.
- Support audits, tax examinations, and interactions with external auditors.
- Monitor tax law changes and assess impacts on the organization.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to the tax team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MST preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience.
- Strong public company tax experience.
- Must have extensive ASC 740 expertise.
- Must have SOX compliance and internal controls experience.
- Experience managing tax provisions, reporting, and compliance functions.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, technology, or multinational organizations.
- Exposure to international tax matters.
- Experience with tax technology and process improvement initiatives.
- $185,000-$215,000 base salary
