Community Outreach And Engagement Supervisor

Mission: To inspire health, wellbeing, and humanity in our community, through all of life's stages.

Pay & Benefits: Tepeyac offers a full compensation package to all full-time employees. The hourly rate range for the Community Outreach and Engagement Supervisor position is $27.81-$30.77, depending on experience.

Job Summary: The Community Outreach and Engagement Supervisor serves as a frontline leader responsible for overseeing daily community outreach and engagement operations while advancing Tepeyac's mission. This position ensures high quality patient experience through effective supervision of Community Outreach staff and serves as a key representative of Tepeyac within the community. The Supervisor provides direct oversight of the community outreach team, supports staff development and workflow efficiency, acts as an intermediary between Tepeyac staff and community partners and serves as the first point of escalation for operational and patient service concerns. Additionally, this role develops and implements outreach initiatives, health education programs, and community partnerships that increase awareness of Tepeyac services and improve access to care and health literacy among Latino/a and other underserved populations. This position collaborates closely with organizational leadership, providers, community organizations, and patients to support Tepeyac's mission and strategic goals.

Education And Experience:

Minimum Education, Experience, and Language Requirements:

High School diploma or GED required; degree in Public Health, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Five or more years of customer service or healthcare experience, with at least two years in a leadership, supervisory, outreach, or healthcare operations role.

Experience in health promotion, community outreach, patient services, or healthcare administration preferred.

Experience working with Latino/a and other underserved communities.

Oral and written fluency in English required.

Oral and written fluency in Spanish required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Supervision

Provide direct day-to-day supervision of Community Outreach Specialists

Increase employee engagement, retention, and performance through coaching, mentoring, and recognition.

Monitor staff performance, attendance, professionalism, and adherence to organizational standards.

Provide real-time feedback, corrective coaching, and performance improvement support.

Participate in employee evaluations and professional development planning.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.

Act as a leader in the clinic, advancing Tepeyac's strategic priorities through staff and community engagement.

Lead onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing training for staff, students, and volunteers.

Community Outreach & Engagement

Represent Tepeyac Community Health Center through community outreach activities, presentations, health fairs, and educational events.

Develop and implement outreach strategies that promote Tepeyac services and increase community awareness.

Create or identify culturally responsive educational materials related to prevention, wellness, healthcare access, and chronic disease management.

Support development of outreach content for social media, flyers, presentations, and community campaigns.

Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders.

Collect and analyze outreach data and provide recommendations to improve community engagement and patient enrollment. Identify opportunities for improved community partnership, patient access and entry to care and communicate to Tepeyac leadership

Lead grant-funded initiatives and community projects, including health promotion campaigns and public health priorities.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements including HIPAA and OSHA.

Monitor documentation accuracy, cash handling procedures, patient records, and operational logs.

Conduct quality assurance audits and workflow reviews.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and community engagement.

Complete incident reports and escalate safety concerns appropriately.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with leadership on implementation.

Communication & Collaboration

Serve as a primary point of contact for Community Outreach staff regarding daily operations, workflow questions, and support needs.

Communicate policy updates, workflow changes, and organizational initiatives clearly and consistently.

Collaborate with providers, managers, and community partners to support patient care and outreach objectives.

Translate healthcare information, policy updates, and community needs into actionable workflows, educational materials, and communication strategies.

Promote Tepeyac's culture of respect, service excellence, accountability, and equity.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

Attend required internal meetings, trainings, leadership development sessions, and community events.

Support clinic operations during periods of high patient volume or staffing shortages.

Work occasional evenings and weekends to support community outreach activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking abilities in both English and Spanish.

Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to build relationships with patients, staff, community partners, and stakeholders.

Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare technology systems.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Commitment to culturally responsive and equitable care.

Strong alignment with Tepeyac's mission, values, and commitment to serving underserved communities.

Vaccinations: Tepeyac Community Health Center requires certain vaccinations for all employees as a condition of employment, in compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Proof of required vaccinations must be provided prior to starting employment.
