System Development Specialist- Richmond, VA

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a System Development Specialist in Richmond, Virginia to design, develop, and support Oracle Forms applications and PL/SQL components for enterprise automation systems. The role involves full software development lifecycle management, technical leadership, and mentoring junior developers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement Oracle Forms applications and PL/SQL components
- Own full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through production support
- Collaborate with Database Administrators, stakeholders, and development teams on scalable solutions
- Lead technical discussions and requirements-gathering sessions with business and technical audiences
- Mentor junior developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and professional guidance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in software development
- Proficiency developing and maintaining Oracle Forms applications and PL/SQL
- Experience analyzing business requirements and translating to technical specifications
- Ability to develop project estimates, resource plans, and implementation timelines
- Experience with Oracle Database and enterprise application architecture
- Strong mentoring and technical communication skills
