Substitute Car/Van Driver Brunswick County Public Schools Transportation - Lawrenceville, Virginia Open in Google Maps Job Details Job ID: 5815495 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jul 03, 2026 4:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Aug 1, 2026 Job Description POSITION TITLE: Substitute Car/Van Driver CONTRACT YEAR: School Year (Call as Needed) SALARY: Daily Rate Based on the Approved Substitute Car/Van Driver Pay Scale DEPARTMENT: Transportation START DATE: Rolling Hires (August–May) Direct Accountability and Report Works under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, who is responsible for carrying out the operations of Transportation Services across the division. An annual classified evaluation will be based on the job description, division and personal goals and objectives specific to the position, and the performance of the Substitute Car/Van Driver.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Successfully complete a criminal background check, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check, and any other pre-employment screenings required by Brunswick County Public Schools. Provide a satisfactory driving record from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Complete BCPS training for substitute car/van drivers as required by the school division. Complete and sign the Brunswick County Public Schools Substitute Employee Agreement prior to accepting substitute assignments.
