Job Description

This role focuses on delivering professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable service to customers in a medical products environment. You will greet customers, respond to telephone enquiries, assess needs, educate clients on medical products and services, and accurately process orders. The position also involves maintaining a clean, organised showroom and supporting a variety of tasks to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a professional, friendly and enthusiastic manner, creating a welcoming experience in the showroom.
• Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, providing clear information and support.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of medical products, including placement, availability, pricing and appropriate use.
• Efficiently assess customer needs to recommend suitable products and services based on their requirements.
• Educate patients and clients on medical products and services, explaining features, benefits and proper usage.
• Fit and sell medical products and services to customers, ensuring comfort, safety and satisfaction.
• Process customer orders accurately and promptly, entering all required information into the computer system.
• Maintain the showroom so it is consistently stocked, clean, organised and presentable.
• Use multiple telephone lines and software systems to manage calls, enquiries and orders.
• Provide customer resolution support, addressing questions and concerns in a professional manner.
• Follow attendance and communication procedures, including timely notification if late or absent.
• Participate in training activities such as computer modules, shadowing and role plays to build product and system knowledge.
• Collaborate with colleagues and leadership in a direct feedback, coaching-focused environment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned or as necessary to support customers and the smooth operation of the office.

Essential Skills

• Proven customer service or customer resolution experience of at least 1 year.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide a positive experience.
• Comfortable handling a high volume of telephone calls and speaking with customers over the phone.
• Experience working with multi-line phone systems and multiple software applications simultaneously.
• Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail when inputting customer orders and information.
• Ability to acquire a working knowledge of relevant software applications used in the role.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time as required during the workday.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs, such as oxygen tanks.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a clear and professional manner.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with reliable attendance.
• Willingness to receive direct feedback and participate in a coaching-oriented work environment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Medical, including experience in Respiratory Therapy or Nursing, is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of home medical products, including placement, availability and pricing, is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a call centre or customer support environment is beneficial.
• Experience working in a small office or retail showroom setting is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt to different training locations during the initial training period, where feasible.
• Comfort working with data entry tasks and learning new computer systems.
• Strong organisational skills to help keep the showroom stocked, clean and presentable.
• Willingness to take on supervision or leadership opportunities as the company grows.

Work Environment

The role is based in a small office onsite at a retail store location, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with limited overtime as the organisation aims to avoid extended hours. The environment is direct and supportive, with a hands-on, sports-style coaching approach to feedback. Business casual attire is required, and jeans or sweatpants are not permitted. Parking is available on nearby streets on a first-come, first-served basis, and the surrounding area is described as safe for walking. Training begins with a week of computer-based modules, followed by shadowing and role plays, and may involve temporary travel to other local offices where more trainers and staff are available, typically over 2 to 6 weeks. The workplace uses multiple phone lines, computer systems and software applications, and involves both office-based tasks and occasional physical activity such as lifting medical equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Renton, WA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
