As an Order Filler at Ryerson, you are responsible for filling orders as they come in through the queue and maintain warehouse workflow. Roles and Responsibilities Load and unload the trucks Operate lift truck, side loader, and overhead crane Use SAP operating system to place, track, and fulfill customer orders Package and prepare material for shipment Final packaging of material per customer specification Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and using prescribed safety equipment, including PPE All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Requirements Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing Previous overhead crane or forklift crane experience preferred Basic math and reading skills Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, mobility, and lifting requirements Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding Salary: This position is a Union position. Per Union contract this position pays $30.36. New employees hired shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of the full rate for the first three months of employment, ninety percent (90%) of the rate for the next three months, and ninety-five (95%) of the rate for the next six months.
