Registered Nurse (RN)

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a vital role in the patient care team. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team within the scope of practice delineated in the Nurse Practice Act. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct patient care and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their recovery from anesthesia.
• Delegating and assigning responsibilities appropriately to team members.
• Leading the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician.
• Demonstrating proficiency with procedural sedation and managing AM admissions/blocks and recovery.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU.
• Demonstrated experience with procedural sedation.
• Experience with AM admissions/blocks and recovery.
• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Must have current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Personal vehicle required for travel between assignments.

This position requires availability to work weekend shifts, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, candidates should be open to working holidays as needed. Please note that time off requests during this assignment should be communicated upfront.

Personal scrubs of any color are permitted; however, designs or cartoons are not allowed, and hoodies are prohibited.

All new and returning agency staff must have completed training from one of the recognized training groups for onboarding and clearance. COVID vaccinations are encouraged, but not required.
