Details Work in a 30-bed Cardiac ICU within an acute care hospital with a Level 2 trauma designation 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios, with approximately 90% of assignments at a 1:2 ratio 12-hour night shifts with an every-other-weekend requirement Uses Cerner EMR and GE telemetry monitors Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment Ventilator management required as part of patient care Hospitalist coverage in house 24/7, along with 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support No dedicated IV team or nurse aides on the unit Self-scheduling available, with schedules built approximately 6 weeks in advance and finalized by the manager Travelers are prioritized for floating to any telemetry or medsurg unit One day of unit-specific orientation provided Navy scrubs required Requirements Active CA RN license required, active at time of submission with no pending licenses accepted Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Required certifications: BLS and ACLS, with NIHSS also required and PALS preferred Recent experience with fresh open heart patients required Experience with mixed ICU patient populations required BSN not required for this position Must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia test onsite on day one (Pass/Fail) Copy of driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients, including those with fresh open heart procedures and mixed ICU diagnoses Facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter assignments) Holiday coverage is not currently required but may be requested First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-743303.
