Senior Buyer - Strategic Purchasing Hybrid role per Rolls‑Royce HR Policy. Minimum two days per week onsite. Working locations: Aiken, SC or Novi, MI. Overview This role lies within our Power Systems business in North America, supporting the procurement of production materials for a range of energy, industrial, marine and defense applications. What you will be doing Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to production material. Assist in the development of International Commodity Team strategies that align with Global/Regional Purchasing and Logistics Objectives. Manage cross‑functional projects on time and within budget. Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance. Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing and contract related issues with the suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers. Evaluate and select new suppliers based on common practices and negotiated agreements focused on price, quality, delivery and other required services. Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers. Position Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Materials Management, or Business Finance and five years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; OR Nine years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management. Minimum two years’ experience handling confidential sensitive matters with discretion. Ability to travel — domestic and international — and work flexible hours. Hybrid role per Rolls‑Royce HR Policy. Experience in purchasing of casting products for heavy industrial applications. Excellent working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures. Excellent financial/cost analysis and problem‑solving skills for very complex issues. Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain, and/or materials management processes. Strong global knowledge of suppliers and international/domestic activities. Strong organizational, planning, and follow‑up skills. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer.
