Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical conditions and develop personalized treatment programs based on physician referrals.
• Implement evidence-based practices while ensuring treatment plans are aligned with the latest research in physical therapy.
• Provide therapeutic services, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to improve functional mobility and relieve pain.
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about injury prevention, rehabilitation processes, and the home exercise programs.
• Demonstrate outstanding customer service, establishing and nurturing relationships with patients to support a positive therapeutic experience.
• Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team to enhance patient care and ensure continuity of treatment across various settings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Participate in community outreach programs and contribute to the overall growth of Down East Care Physical Therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, pediatric conditions, neurological impairments, and sports medicine-related issues. Qualifications

• Graduation from a physical therapy program accredited by the APTA or CAPTE.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current state licensure to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective patient interactions.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer skills.
• A demonstrated commitment to building strong, patient-centered relationships.

Preferred Experience

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is preferred.
• License as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is ideal.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in outpatient physical therapy settings.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Compensation and Benefits
