Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of MS, PCU, ICU experience. Must have experience in setting within the last 1 year. Must have drip experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Home trach/vent experience highly preferred. Vents can be taught, but RN must be open to learning.

Special Requests: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether it was a teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months before submission. Same shifts for travel duos cannot be guaranteed.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios: days 1:4-5; nights 1:5-6, dependent on acuity. Neuro-focused patient population including strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, and TNK/TPA 24 hours post-treatment; also trauma/ortho patients including hematomas and bleeds, falls on blood thinners, farm injuries, and motor vehicle accident injuries. Titrates drips including heparin, nitro, diltiazem, amiodarone, 3%, and insulin. Equipment includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, VapoTherm, and EtCO2. Night charge nurse takes a full assignment; day charge nurse takes a smaller assignment. Nurse aides available; ratios are days 1:9 and nights 1:12. Central monitor is located in a different area.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling, balanced by the manager; schedule opens 6 weeks in advance. Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Typically 2/3 winter holidays; otherwise every other holiday. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Floats to sister Med-Surg units across 6 specialties, including mixed care, cardiac, general, Med-Surg ortho, and heme/onc, to take more general patients as needed.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years
