Department Details The Broadway ICU is an 18 bed unit encompassing the 2nd floor of the East tower at the Broadway Hospital. While we have a focus in Oncology, you'll find that we see a variety of complex medical and surgical ICU patients including severe sepsis, respiratory failure, polysubstance abuse, multi-system organ failure, general surgical, kidney transplants and bone marrow transplants. As an Academic Teaching Facility, we provide education and experience with all these types of patients and offer a number of professional development opportunities. Experienced RN preferred. Responsibilities Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise Qualifications Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
