Job Description UC Health is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the 6 Ridgeway Psychiatry day shift at UC Medical Center. Location Cincinnati, OH, United States Unit Details Variety of diagnoses in behavioral health; opportunity to gain experience. Opportunity to work with psych emergency service. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Current Ohio RN license. BLS/ACLS/PALS as required by department based on patient population needs. Minimum required: Six months direct patient care experience in psychiatric setting or equivalent college‑level coursework in nursing, psychology, or social work. For employees working in UCMC Psychiatric Services, NCI‑APS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice. Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient. Identifies and responds appropriately to patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms. Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit. Accurately and concisely documents the nursing process, including evaluation of treatment, in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
