Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, in the Classification and Selections Project unit, this position works on a variety of complex consultative and analytical tasks. This position works directly with various department programs providing consultation and customer service on various classification items such as: duty statements; position titles; classification assessments; organizational structures; desk audits; and assists with classification and compensation projects and job studies. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills: Working knowledge of State Civil Service laws, rules, policies, and procedures, and human resources guidelines and practices relating to classification and pay and job analysis Knowledge of personnel management principles and practices Ability to work independently and as a team with co-workers and management to address and resolve issues Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both in verbally and writing Ability to use good judgment and make sound decisions Ability to achieve results according to objectives Ability to research, analyze, evaluate information and take effective action Ability to develop, coordinate and deliver presentations Outstanding time management and organizational skills Commitment to the highest ethical standards of confidentiali ty If becoming permanent, the selected candidate must be eligible for a permanent appointment at the time of the LT appointment or at the time of the conversion.
