Supervisor, Underwriting E & S

Responsibilities Lead assigned underwriting team in accordance with corporate and regional goals for production, profitability, retention and policyholder service Manage a book of business Support the development of agency and key account relationships Oversee the underwriting function Analyze and evaluate information and exposures on risks of increasing complex technical nature with a high level of authority Requirements Minimum four years of E&S underwriting with focus on casualty lines; including 1 year of leadership experience Demonstrated ability to effectively assess risks, price, and negotiate business in accordance with established guidelines Advanced knowledge of current market conditions, trends, competition, and new products / coverages being offered by competitors Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making Thorough understanding of key exposures and portfolio pricing techniques Bachelor's degree or better Must pass a pre-employment drug screen Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in E&S Underwriting with a focus on Casualty Lines, including risk assessment, pricing, and negotiation.
