Behavioral Health Specialist - Pediatrics Stroudsburg WestValley Health Partners, Stroudsburg PAJob Summary: Completes assessments/evaluations, develops and implements treatment goals, facilitates referrals/resources both internally within the Valley Health Partners Community Health Center (VHP) continuum and throughout the community and provides therapeutic interventions to address patient's mental health needs.Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or clinical discipline, such as Psychology. Two years of experience in counseling or social work or a related field in a clinical setting.Preferred Qualifications: More than three years of experience in counseling or social work or a related field in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), preferred.Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Upon Hire or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Upon Hire, required.Skills Needed:Ability to use good judgement to respond to emergencies.Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.Comprehensive understanding of behavioral health services and appropriate levels of care.Familiarity with differential diagnosis of common mental health and/or substance use disorders.Knowledge of public health problems, principles, and practices.Essential Functions:Assesses and identifies a patient's behavioral health needs, barriers to care, and therapeutic interventions/techniques to assist the patient to their optimal level of functioning.Demonstrates expertise in various therapeutic modalities, the DSM 5 Classification system, multi-cultural issues, and employing counseling and education skills to empower their patients.Completes medical record documentation in a timely manner in accordance with program, departmental, regulatory, third-party payor, and network compliance standards.Works collaboratively with both internal/external customers and teams.
