Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing consulting services as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive educational experiences for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The position offers the chance to support both staff and students, using your expertise to help tailor learning strategies, enhance accessibility, and foster effective communication within the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid or eligible Indiana Exceptional Needs Teaching License with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally in a school setting
- Knowledge of consultation models, IEP development, and IDEA compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to work onsite or in a virtual arrangement, as determined
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage varying caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consulting resource for educational staff and administrators to ensure appropriate support and accommodations for D/HH students
- Advise teachers on instructional modifications, adaptive technologies, and classroom strategies
- Monitor student progress, provide recommendations for instructional adjustments, and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
- Facilitate communication among students, staff, and families regarding accessibility and learning opportunities
- Participate in professional development and remain current on best practices in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
