Designer

Pay Range: $17.17 - $25.23 Purpose Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience Degree in Design (preferred) Knowledge of hard surface flooring (preferred) Proficient in basic mathematical skills Self‑motivated and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position Essential Functions Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk‑in needs Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with high accuracy, timeliness, and follow‑up, including consistent and concise communication to customers and others Use company communication tools and email consistently and proficiently Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, the proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Limited travel by car may be required. The employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles, with moderate to noisy noise levels. The position requires physical tasks including lifting 20–50 pounds occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly; standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may also be required.
